Our Sensory-Motor Social Groups consist of activities that harness sensory, motor and social skills as a unit. We see children as a whole with every system interrelating and connecting with each other. It is so difficult to isolate the intricacies of the human system, yet we encounter programs that attempt to do so day after day. Here at A Total Approach, we firmly believe in setting up the foundational skills for social learning, prior to involving a child in a social group setting for social skills training.

Sensory-Motor Social Groups in Brief

1. Groups consist of 6 children to each group with 2 professionals to each group.
2. Groups for ages:
     - 3 to 4 yr. olds
     - 4 to 5 yr. olds
     - 6 to 8 yr. olds
3. Additional programs for other age groups will be available if the need is determined.
4. Younger groups run for two hours each weekday morning from 9 am to 11am.
5. Older group runs in the evening between 4 and 6 pm.
6. Feedback time with parents during the last 30 minutes of the group session.
7. 2-hour screening process for new children.
8. Curriculum is designed upon the individual and group needs each week.
9. Groups are fun, with much drama, pretend play and opportunities for problem-solving.
10. Groups are open ended.
