Listening Program
At A Total Approach we believe in many forms of sound therapy and we are always investigating more options. TLP has done a great job in designing especially SI Classic CD's for the core body zones so central to our children with sensory integration needs. The 8 week program is simple to use and very easy to follow. It follows the basic principles of Dr. Alfred Tomatis that is also very important to our center based Tomatis program. This home program does not require as much individualization when compared to other home programs.
The Listening Program Services at A Total Approach
- We provide two hour screening / assessment sessions at our center to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the particular child.
- The parents have the option of requesting a written assessment or a verbal consultation on the findings and suggested program for your child.
- We provide ongoing support in the development of your child's listening program. The parent is expected to purchase all the CD's of the 8-week program at once, and there are more before and after CD's to purchase as well.
- We could also provide a listening program upon parent request as part of our comprehensive evaluation process.
- The parents / caregivers are responsible for purchasing the headphones, compact discs and other necessary equipment needed for the home program.
- We include listening therapy in our weekly sensory integration sessions as per profile of the individual children.
- We provide school and home consultation regarding individual as well as general programs.
- The Listening Program SI Classic CD is an active "ingredient" of our summer school programs.
