Therapeutic Listening
At first we were quite skeptical to add sound therapy to our established sensory integration practice. We attended the first course through www.vitallinks.net and chose two extreme profiles with the parent's permission. We became amazed with the results within the first two to four weeks of the program. After 5 months 75% of our entire caseload was using this very effective home program. The success in different children's lives sparked our interest to investigate more intense techniques such as Tomatis training.
We use Therapeutic Listening mostly as part of a home program as part of a sensory diet daily schedule.
We also use therapeutic listening in-between our Tomatis training loops or as a program after Tomatis is completed,
depending on the profile of the child. Therapeutic Listening is most effective when used in combination with weekly
sensory integration therapy. It is very important that the child's caregivers have the ability to maintain the use
of headphones and commit themselves strongly to the rigor of the program. We enjoy the fact that we can individualize

Therapeutic Listening Services at A Total Approach
- We provide two hour screening / assessment sessions at our center to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the particular child.
- The parents have the option of requesting a written assessment or a verbal consultation on the findings and suggested program for your child.
- We provide ongoing support in the development of your child's therapeutic listening program and the parent is never expected to purchase all the CD's at once, though rather as the child's profile develops.
- We also provide a therapeutic listening program upon parent request as part of our comprehensive evaluation process.
- The parents / caregivers are responsible for purchasing the headphones, compact discs and other necessary equipment needed for the home program.
- We include therapeutic listening in our weekly sensory integration sessions as per profile of the individual children.
- We provide school and home consultation regarding individual as well as general programs.
- Therapeutic Listening is an active daily "ingredient" of our summer school programs.
