The Space Program and NASA have contributed many things to our world, things which make our lives richer and fuller, things which support our economy. NASA also supported and funded the basic scientific research questioning how the vestibular or balance sense operates and how balance influences brain processes. When we look at something, what we see is sensed by the eye, processed by the brain, and projected out into space. The accuracy of our visual perceptions – the extent to which they match reality – is dependent not just on acuity of the lenses in our two eyes, but also on the efficiency of our brain processes. The brain's process of projecting the objects that we see and interpreting the relative motion and mass of objects in dynamic three dimensional space is fundamentally an inertial gravitational problem. Our kids struggle with these basic functions every day in the classrooms. Many children do not "qualify" for services through the educational system, because they compensate with their intelligence to the extent needed to "pass", but at a very demoralizing cost. Their self-esteems suffer and they develop behavioral and social difficulties as they do not understand what it is that is causing them to have to work so much harder than their peers. Read more about how this program can assist your child in understanding him/herself better and enable him/her to improve their learning capacity.
